An Ordinance to amend the Summary Offences Ordinance, 1932.

[1st April, 1949.]

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof:

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Summary Offences Short title. Amendment Ordinance, 1949, and shall be read as one with the Summary Offences Ordinance, 1932, hereinafter referred to as the Ordinance principal Ordinance.

2. Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is amended by the Amendment addition of the following paragraph after paragraph (b):—

(bb) public meeting" includes any meeting in a Ordinance. public place and any meeting which the public or a section thereof are permitted to attend, whether on payment or otherwise.'

3. Section 3 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended:- Amendment

(a) by the substitution of the words "five hundred of the dollars or imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months" principal for the words two hundred and fifty dollars" in the second line thereof;

(b) by the deletion of the words. on any road or" in paragraph (2);

(c) by the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph (4) : —

(4) causes any annoyance or obstruction in any

(i) by exposing anything for sale in or upon, or so as to hang over, any street, road or footway, or on the outside of any house, shop or building; or
